There’s still plenty of winter left, which means there’s ample opportunity to enjoy cold-weather activities, including taking a spin around one of the city’s many ice skating rinks. Raita Sawai, Guest Service Manager at The Kitano New York, shares his top three.

First up, Sawai suggests a jaunt around the ice at the world-famous Rink At Rockefeller Center. This is always a worthwhile winter activity, but Sawai notes, “during the holiday season, with the Christmas tree and holiday lights, ice skating at Rockefeller Center is a truly magical and unique NYC experience.” The rink is open through April.

A little farther east in Central Park skating enthusiasts will find Trump Rink in Central Park, also known as Wollman Rink. “With a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline, outdoor ice skating in Central Park is a classic New York experience,” Sawai says. He also notes that the large rink is kept in good condition and is the perfect pick for both families and adults. The rink is open now through the first Sunday in April.

Open through March 1, The Rink at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park offers free ice skating—you just pay a rental fee for skates. With Celsius, a glass-enclosed restaurant, resting next to the rink plus several shops nearby, it’s “the most romantic ice skating rink in NYC,” Sawai says.
