    Perfect Family Trip

We decided to splurge this trip and take the family to Disney World. We decided to pay the extra money and stay at a deluxe resort. We chose to did this because by the time we get to go back to Disney our boys will be old enough that will will have to pay the adult prices for them. So we will be paying for 4 adults and then it will have to be a value resort then. The Polynesian is so family friendly. We arrived by Magical Express and were greeted with welcome lei’s for the family. Check in was quick and easy. We looking around the lobby a little before heading to our room. It is so tropical and makes you feel like you are in paradise. The rooms are very spacious and love that fact that they have the mini fridge. We had requested a ground floor room, we choose this so we would have the little porch to sit at. They gave us a list of all the resort activities that would be going on during our stay so we looked over it to see what we could do. We chose for our arrival day not to visit one of the parks. We just wanted to get settled, swim and rest that evening so we could get an early start the next morning. The Polynesian Resort offers many activities for family’s to enjoy. On there beach in the evening you can roast marshmallows around a camp fire then watch the electrical water parade that goes by every evening. Also on select nights they were showing a movie on the beach that everyone could enjoy. During the day they had activities in the lobby like lei making or learning some Hawaiian dances. Out by the pool they also offered children’s activities. Your family will enjoy the pool. The main volcano pool has a water slide that my boys really enjoyed. Plenty of chairs and umbrella’s to sit around in and relax. The food at this resort is so amazing. Our favorite place to eat here is Ohana which is a family style all you can eat type meal. It is well worth it not to miss it. Transportation to Magic Kingdom and Epcot are by monorail from here. This is really nice and makes it fast. The get to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios you take the bus. We hardly every had to wait long buses were always running. I know this resort may cost a little more, but they offer so much more that any of the other Resorts. We have stayed at some of the others and we really enjoy them as well, but it was fun to treat ourselves this time.

    Tips for Families

Pick up the activities guide at check in, you won’t want to miss any of the special family activities. Take your children to the Ohana Character breakfast, I think it is one of the best ones. Take time to relax and enjoy the pool. Just walk the ground, the plants and everything are so beautiful here.

    Beautiful Disney Resort!

Disney’s Polynesian Resort is amazing in so many ways! It is perfect for families because even though there is plenty of Disney here, from the minute you enter this resort you feel as though you are spending your vacation on an island in Hawaii! This place is so beautiful, clean and well cared for. Our room was also very clean and well kept for our entire stay, and there was plenty of room for the four of us. Both my son and daughter love the pool here, especially the waterfall and volcano waterslide. They would have spent the entire vacation in this pool if I let them! The Polynesian also has one of the best views of the Wishes fireworks show every night, either watching from the volcano pool or from the beach. The restaurants here are incredible too! Our favorite is the Kona Café. You have your choice of transportation at the Polynesian, including bus, boat and monorail, which makes getting to and from the parks quick and easy. Finally, from check in to check out, every castmember we came in contact with was friendly and went out of their way to help you. This resort is a splurge, but definitely worth it. We absolutely loved our stay at the Polynesian and can’t wait to stay here again!

    Tips for Families

Be sure to take a break from the parks and enjoy this resort! After a day at the Magic Kingdom, jump on the monorail and take a quick ride back to the Polynesian for dinner at the Kona Café or Ohana. After dinner, get a drink at the Tambu Lounge and take it down to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes fireworks!

O’Hana’s Character Breakfast ~ best on property

The O’hana Character Breakfast is the best one on Disney property. The location of the Polynesian resort is just beautiful and you can see the Magic Kingdom while you are enjoying breakfast. The character’s here are Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. We love character meals, because it saves us from spending touring time waiting in long lines for characters. Here they come to you! The food here is phenomenal. From the juice, to the Hawaiian sausages, to the potatoes, it is all delicious. It’s all you care to eat, so they will replenish your family style bowl at any time if you’d like more of something. It’s a great bargain if you are on the dining plan too.

    Tips for Families

Make the earliest reservation possible, then you can head straight to the Magic Kingdom right after breakfast.
