Great Location and Family Friendly but hotel is showing its age
This hotel is in a great location, with a very easy walk to the Space Needle, EMP Museum, the Children’s Museum, a food court, the Pacific Science Center and the monorail that takes you down to the aquarium and the public market. The staff was also very good, check in was quick and hassle free, the breakfast was nice, except there were not any “kid friendly” cereal options like cheerios or fruit loops. They do have waffles, fruit, toast, muffins, eggs and sausage. (we had great weather so we were able to eat outside- the dining area is small so go early or there will be no place to sit). We needed extra bedding and house keeping brought it with in 5 minutes,( the quickest for any hotel we have ever stayed in). The pool area is clean and well kept. There is on-site parking for $15 a day which is a bargain for the area. The main reason we picked this hotel was it was one of the few places in the area that allowed 5 people in a room. We have three kids and it was a tight fit. (If we were to go back, I think I would get two rooms at a cheaper hotel) The bad news is that this place is older, most of the outlets in our room didn’t work, the bed was about 15 inches from the bathroom door, there was no closet or fridge in the room, and there is NO counter space in the bathroom. The halls were dark, especially around the elevator, and it was always really hot in the elevator alcove. The halls have weird ramps. None of the rooms have a view of the space needle, although the hall is lined with windows so you get a view as you walk to your room. It looks like the staff works really hard to keep this place together and make it as pleasant as possible, the staff was great, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, but the building could use some updating.
