Wonderful family fun for all ages
This hotel was perfect for our family. We wanted to vacation somewhere where we could find things for the kids to do while my hubby and I were able to get some alone time. The girls loved the slides and pools. We felt like 4 days was not enough time to do everything the resort offered. We are already planning our next trip here but planning to bring more family and friends.
Tips for Families
Get ready to have fun! Adults, the slides are fun for everyone. My kids dragging my husband down the slide and them him riding down it another 50 times was one of my best memories.

Paradise
the trade winds is jam packed with fun activities to do for kids from the pool to the waterslide and thepaddle boats and mini golf to name a few.. the staff is wonderful and so friendly and helpful. you can also use the amenities at their sister property which is a short walk away.
Tips for Families
be prepared for a 30 amenities fee to be tacked onto your bill each night, kind of alot but there is a lot to do

Awesome!
We loved our stay in St. Pete Beach. The Tradewinds had everything! Pools, beach front access, tons of dining options, and a huge waterslide on the beach! A great relaxing vacation but still many ways to keep the kids busy.
Tips for Families
We visited nearby Clearwater to see Winter the dolphin at the Clearwater Marine aquarium. We also did a dolphin cruise right down the road.

Don’t Go
This place is awful. Overpriced, poor attitude of staff, overcrowded, they actually sell day passes to locals, so chairs at the pool are hard to get. Food is shamelessly overpriced and inedible. We paid full price, $550 + $35 a night to be elbow to elbow with trailer park trash. This place has tremendous potential but is so poorly managed that you should just run away. The extra people at the pools causes tremendous chaos. I was watching my 5 and 7 year old in one of the pools (no lifeguards) and a little girl, about 6, started crying and asked me to help her find her parents. I helped her look for her mom and dad, great parents abandoning their 6 year old, who we eventually found. When I got back to the pool my 7 year old daughter told me that a man had tried to take her out of the pool. This is true, the Pinellas County Sheriff took a report on 3/29/15, call them if you don’t believe me (727-582-6200). Additionally, when we got home i got an email asking me to complete a survey, I completed the survey factually and unemotionally, not even getting into the attempted abduction of my daughter. I received an email from and administrative assistant which said we are sorry that…and then listed the items in the survey that I mentioned were sub-par; the items were in a different font size. Clearly this was just a cut and paste email that they send, with no sincerity. As to the incident with my daughter, I will compliment the security staff, as they flooded the area with officers, and they brought in the sheriff’s deputy. The good is that they took this issue so seriously, the bad is that they had to start checking people for room keys or wristbands; my point is that if they did not allow so many non-guests into the resort, perhaps it would be safer. Also, the day trippers were not shy about bringing in their own coolers of Busch beer (yes Busch) and lining them up on the edge of the pool…THEIR IS NO OVERSIGHT AT THIS PLACE

Tradewinds Island Grand—Family Fun for ALL ages!
Going to the Tradewinds Island Grand has been a tradition for our family for the past 20 years. We live in Tampa, Florida, a short drive away, and have been coming to the resort at least 1 time every year. Our family of 6 has enjoyed everything from relaxing Fall getaways (with small crowds) to wonderful 4th of July Fireworks while sitting on the beach. Three of our kids are now adults and they have started their own tradition of visiting the Tradewinds with their friends and significant others. Our fouth child is a teenager now and while some of his friends would rather not go on a vacation with “the folks”, our son couldn’t wait to get back to the Tradewinds! The first stop is always the paddleboats! What a great, relaxing ride! Last year we were thrilled to find out that the Tradewinds is pet-friendly! We stayed in the Alamada building. Right outside our room, was the pet play area and dog washing station. Our four-legged “child” loved the Tradewinds Island Grand as much as our Two-Legged children have! It truly is a fantastic Family vacation spot for ALL members of you family, furry or not…and for children of all ages, infant through adult!
Tips for Families
The staff is incredibly helpful. There is also a wonderful store on premise in case you forgot anything. If you do bring you furry child, make sure you treat them to the pet room service! You kids will get a kick out of the 5-star dinning treatment you pet will receive!
