Awesome family resort!
We were very excited about trying out a family friendly resort because we were bringing our 8 year old daughter with us. The water park, pools, Kids Club were all great. Since this is a family resort away from the Hotel Zone in Cancun it gets pretty quiet by 10pm. It is an all inclusive and there is alcohol served but I never saw anyone totally drunk. We were one of the few American families there. Lots of Canadian and British families which was really neat. The food was good. Typical all inclusive but with lots of choices for kids as well as local items!
Tips for Families
We had room 306. It was a Jr. Oceanview suite and totally worth the upgrade. It is away from the pool/lobby area so quieter at night. There are no elevators so be prepared to climb stairs with luggage/strollers ect unless you ask for a ground floor.

Fun and Family Friendly Waterpark Resort near Cancun
I am a mom of two young children (they were 1 & 5 at the time of our vacation) when we took them on a vacation to Mexico. One thing I enjoy most about planning a vacation is the RESEARCH: finding the best combination of fair price, amenities and location. I especially enjoy reading reviews from families who have children a similar age to mine so I can learn how age appropriate the resort is for my family. I hope that this review on MINITIME will help other families research upcoming vacations! My careful research paid off when we booked a vacation to Sea Adventure Resort & Waterpark Cancun. We found the Sea Adventure Resort & Waterpark Cancun to be a wonderful resort for families with young children. The water activities were wonderful! There was a pool (with swim up bar) overlooking the ocean. The pool had an enclosed shallow area which was great for our little ones. We would spend mornings at the pool, eat lunch at the adjoining restaraunt then walk across the street to the waterpark. The resort has an underground tunnel to get to the waterpark- so there are no worries about traffic and the little ones can run. Our kids LOVED the waterpark- there were fun slides and squirting things for our toddler and five year old (bigger kids seemed to have a great time, too!!) The beach was SO lovely- really clean, sugar soft sand, hammocks and beach beds. So very nice and our kids loved playing there, too. The food was perfect for us– buffet with lots of variety. There was always something to eat whenever our kids got hungry. When you are traveling with little ones- that becomes more important frankly than 5 star food. We did enjoy what we ate just fine! The entertainment was also great. The entertainment staff works so hard to make sure you have a great time. We didn’t take our 5 year old to the kids club until the last day. She had so much fun she did not want to leave. Our son was not quite old enough for the kids club. At night, there were entertaining shows that appealed to all ages. A very fun time, indeed! The resort is north of Cancun and out of the hotel zone. We were happy about this as it was much quieter and low key than other options in Cancun. Some people may wonder where they are going when they take the taxi to the resort- but we found it to be very safe. All in all- a great time was had by all– Enjoy your vacation!
Tips for Families
We really enjoyed our vacation, but there are a couple of small things that could have made it even more family friendly: While the resort is all-inclusive and you can access all of the alcohol you would like, we were not able to access bottled water for our room. I was able to sweet talk a bartender into a coffee carafe which I filled at the Garafon (water pitcher) in the dining area and brought back to our room. I did find eventually that if I left a tip each day for the cleaning person- that a bottle would be left in the fridge, but it was not enough for a family of four. There is a BEAUTIFUL beach at this resort and free access to catamaran, children’s paddle boats, kayaks, volleyballs, etc… but no sand toys for our little ones. Again, a simple thing that would have made life a little easier for a family traveling with a one and five year old. Buying sand toys at the gift shop is quite expensive… so consider packing a shovel and pail! With a plethora of water activities (at the pool, waterpark and beach)- I was happy that I invested in a small life vest for my one year old. We brought it on our trip and it allowed him to have fun in shallow water with fewer worries for us!

Great family vacation
We had an excellent time at Sea Adventure Resort and Waterpark. The staff is top notch and will go out of their way to get you anything you need. We asked for an ocean facing Jr. suite with two beds in a quiet area of the resort. We got a 3rd floor room (it is 3 stories high) away from the pool/restaurant areas. The activities at the kids club were fun for our daughter. The staff spoke English pretty well. We felt comfortable leaving her there for 6-8 hours at a time (She wanted to hang out with kids, not us!). I tipped the gal leading the activities each night after our daughter’s long stays there.
Tips for Families
There are no elevators, only staircases so ask for a first floor room if you don’t want to haul strollers and things up and down stairs. Take LOTS of sunscreen as the sun is very strong and you see lots of burnt people walking around. Sun shirts for the pool/beach are recommended for everyone in the group. Check out El Mecco about a mile down the road from the resort. It is a small Mayan ruins park. It was $7 American for my husband and I and our 8 year old daughter got in free. We walked the 3/4 of a mile each way to get there on the side of the road. If you want to do something educational on your trip but not spend lots of money and many hours doing the excursions to the huge Mayan ruins 2 hours away check out this place.
