Full-service resort north of Denver
I traveled to the Omni Interlocken with four children, and we spread out in two adjacent rooms, which was ideal for our party of 5. Two outdoor pools kept the kids entertained when we weren’t sightseeing and playing in Denver (downtown is about a 20-minute drive to the south). Golfing families will appreciate the three on-site golf courses (27 holes total). Cruiser bikes are available to borrow; there are paved recreation trails nearby. My kids liked playing foosball and Wii, while waiting for food to arrive in the on-site Tap Room restaurant. More entertainment in the summer includes “dive-in” movies for families in the outdoor pool area. For parents, the Mokara Spa is lovely.
Tips for Families
I recommend the “casually elegant” Meritage restaurant for a “fine dining” experience for families. I took my 10- and 12-year-old children, and they gave big thumbs’ up especially to the flatiron steak and Caprese salad.
