Ten Years, and still our preferred vacation
We have been going to the Marco Island Marriott for ten years. We usually go for Spring Break, but if we go elsewhere for spring break, we find a way to get there during the year. This resort is our favorite – and we have been to many high end resorts. we have been spreading the word about this place, and the friends that go – all uniformly love it. It is affordable, which is great for families. It is classified as a regular Marriott, but is very similar to the JW in Cancun, and the JW in Desert Ridge (Phoenix/Scottsdale), so there is an immediate value built in. The variety of pools, restaurants, and beach bars offers something for everyone. Adding to it all are the incredible sunsets, and activities for the kids. Our routine includes the adult tennis clinic (with Greg), gym, and walks in the mornings. We follow that up with either the beach or the pool during the day. Lunch is usually at 400 Pazzi’s or Quinns. We generally find an activity for late afternoon, watch the sunset, then go off property for dinner. the Lanai suites are great, just great. The rooms are also nice in the main towers. The shelling tour is great, and the concierge interaction should be before you go as the local restaurants can get booked. Big Cypress National Park, and Everglades City are nice day trips as is Naples for an evening.
Tips for Families
*Great tennis pro (Greg) *Joey’s Pizza *Little Bar for dinner (seafood, for families) *CJ’s on the bay for dinner *Rent a center console boat at the Marco River Marina to go flats fishing, lot of fun. *Dive in Movie on property for kids *the sandcastle building pro is great – take lessons!!

magical visit
We had a beautiful 3 night stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and every room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the the beach and Gulf of Mexico. The hotel is right on the beach, the sand is like sugar and the ocean is warm and inviting. I worried my kids might be a little bored during our stay, but not at all. They went back and forth between the pool and beach all day. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Quinn’s almost every night with gorgeous sunset views. We left refreshed and relaxed and would love to return.
Tips for Families
At check in, they gave the kids a scavenger hunt to complete and return to the front desk. It took them all over the hotel and they loved it. Quinn’s and the Pizza place are great placed to eat for families. Not too pricey and very relaxed.
