Best Hotel stay EVER!!
This hotel really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Although there were many children playing, it didn’t feel overwhelming as it does at some hotels. The pool was amazing! We met some really great people and the atmosphere was so friendly and soothing. I can’t wait to go back!
Tips for Families

Great family hotel at a great location
Loews Miami Beach is a beautiful hotel in the best part of South Beach that caters to families. I travel several times a year with my 9-year-old son and we usually focus on beach and/or island trips. From the moment we entered the property, every employee went out of his or her way to make us feel welcome. The rooms are very modern and the beds are extremely comfortable. The pool is a child’s dream. Kids will love the poolside activities throughout the day including frozen grapes, smoothies, chilled hand towels, watermelon infused water dispensers and family-friendly “dive-in” movies. One end of the pool is a zero depth entry design for the little ones. If you want to splurge, you can rent a beautiful poolside cabana complete with lounge chairs, refrigerator, I-pad, DVD player, and air conditioning. We didn’t take advantage of it, but the Loews has a kid’s camp for children aged 4-12. The gorgeous beach even had a special area for kids with sand pails and toys. The property is located on the ocean boardwalk and a short walk to the heart of the Art Deco district with its amazing architecture and great restaurants. Because of the high cost of food at Loews restaurants, we mainly choose to eat off property. There are so many great restaurants to savor local Latin cuisine within a 10-minute walk. One favorite was the Charlotte Bakery, one block over on Washington Avenue for their Venezuelan, Argentine and Chilean empanadas and pastries (Chicken, beef, beans, or cheese $2 – 3 each). We also discovered a small place on Washington Avenue called Playa Cafe serving mango smoothies to go for around $4. A family friendly place to try ceviche was Chalan on the Beach at the corner of 15th and Washington Avenue. Near the end of our stay we tried an all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet (including Chinese dishes) for around $10 for lunch and $17 for adults ($2 less for kids). On historic Espanola Way, there is the small, Italian-owned Milani Gelateria not to be missed. Flavors include the standard Chocolate, Coconut and Hazelnut as well as the harder to find Malaga and Stracciatella. Be prepared, they only accept cash.
Tips for Families
For the adventurous family with teenagers, I would recommend renting bikes by the hour at Deco Bikes. The stations are located every few blocks all around Miami Beach. They are great for taking short trips to the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, Holocaust Memorial or just checking out the local architecture. Stick to the side streets, as they are safer then Collins or Washington Avenues.
