Great fun, but go on the ‘off-hours’…
I took my son and his friend for a 3 day visit since they had some days off of school We arrived on Thursday and the boy headed straight to the waterpark, the place was practically empty! We had a blast; no waiting in lines or worrying about the boys being on their own for a little bit. We went again on Friday and same thing except around 3pm the landscape began to change. Lots of people started showing up and it was kind of a rough crowd if you ask me. Lots of loud conversations of the type I didn’t want my 9 yr old to hear. Anyway the boys were pretty much done with the waterpark, so we left. Friday night was a bit different at the hotel also, the halls were a lot noisier, they were nice and quiet on Thursday night! I’m a very light sleeper so this was not a good thing. the rooms were nice and clean and the boys alsy had a great time at the arcade as well as the activiity center where they had a lot of fun ‘halloween’ themed crafts and activities for them. We especially liked the scavenger hunt and the pumpkin painting! it was also nice that there are so many decent restaurants in the area as well as Gurnee Mills mall to break up the time we were there!! I would highly recommend this place but not over a weekend or public school holiday…

Great America Waterpark fun
This is an awesome waterpark resort for the entire family. The theming is spectacular and you feel just like you are in the Florida Keys which we love. Plenty of food and shopping and you never have to leave the resort except for Great America. The shuttle service to Great America is such a nice perk, don’t have to worry about parking. The Waterpark is not very large but the lazy river was our favorite, you can ride that thing all day long
Tips for Families
Get to the shuttle stop early, the line can get long for the ride to Great America.
