Disneyland Hotel Anaheim, Anaheim, California
Made to honor the early years of the famous theme park, the Disneyland Hotel Anaheim has especially-themed towers and suites that reflect many famous rides and attractions. The Frontier Tower is home to a replica of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, while the Fantasy Tower features artwork by Mary Blair, who created characters for the It’s A Small World ride. Guests can also stay in the Adventure Tower that was designed to resemble the Adventureland section of Disneyland theme park. There are fun suites with special themes like the Mickey Mouse Penthouse, Pirates of the Caribbean and Fairy Tale suites, and concierge-level rooms are an ideal choice for families looking for upgraded amenities. There are two water slides near the pool with the original Mark 1 Monorail Car sitting right at the entrance to these rides. When its time to grab a bite to eat, the Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s have delicious meal options for all ages and the famous Disney “Character Breakfast” at Goofy’s Kitchen!

Nice hotel, but could have been better
We wanted to stay at a Disney hotel for proximity to Disneyland. This hotel was convenient because we could walk to the park, albeit a 10 minute walk. The pool was only so-so and not much supervision. I booked a spa appointment, only to find out that the spa was at the Grand Californian, 10 minutes away. We were supposed to get adjoining rooms, but what they gave us were two separate non-adjoining rooms with a common vestibule so we could lock the main door but then there were two other doors. Problem was when I had to go back and forth between the rooms, the doors kept locking and I didn’t have the keys so we kept getting locked out (once when my husband was in his underwear!!) The rooms were spacious though and even though we looked over the parking lot, we had a nice view of the fireworks.
Tips for Families
Skip the Goofy Breakfast, which is a buffet and very pricey. Right next door is Steak 55 (or something like that name) and they had a GREAT breakfast with a children’s menu and my kids’ cereal, which came with fruit, juice, and yogurt, was about $8. There is also a coffee/bagel shop so one day we grabbed bagels for the whole family and brought them in to Disneyland park and ate them there.

Making Family Memories to last a LIFETIME
The Disneyland Hotel is a wonderful place to stay if you want convience to the parks. It is so close to Downtown Disney and the Monorail that will take you right to Disneyland Park. The hotel is Disney decor, including the rooms. The headboards have music and display fireworks when turned on. The bathroom fixtures have Mickey Mouse handles. The pool is amazing! The Character Breakfast is so much fun. The food is yummy and the Characters are so friendly and willing to pose for pictures and give autographs. The staff is friendly too. When we stay here, we feel like the outer world doesn’t exist, and it makes our vacation much more enjoyable!
Tips for Families
Great Location for families with small children. It is so easy to get on the Monorail from the park and get dropped off in Downtown Disney close to the Hotel. It makes it nice if you need or want to go back to your room for anything (nap, swimming, change clothes, pick up a jacket for the cool evening).

The Magic of the Disneyland Hotel!
The Disneyland Hotel is pricey, but for this vacation, it was worth every penny. The monorail themed pool and splash zone was a wonderful place to cool off. The quick service lunch at Tangaroa Terrace was tasty, and we loved using the touch sensitive kiosk to order. The room was spacious, and we loved the fiber optic headboard display that looked like fireworks bursting over the castle. We played the music every night before bed. My daughter loved the channel where a princess reads a bedtime story. Goofy’s Kitchen is a fabulous buffet restaurant with lots of characters. We opted out of the photo package, but took tons of pictures with our own cameras. When the staff found out we were celebrating my birthday they brought a special cupcake to our table. But the best perk is the ability to get into each park an hour early on selected days. There is no other way we could have ridden Radiator Springs Racers with only a 10 minute wait! It wasn’t easy being up and ready to go by 6:30 AM, but the comparatively empty parks and minimal waits for rides like Space Mountain, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Toy Story Mania and California Screamin’ was well worth it.
Tips for Families
The Coffee House offers quick grab and go breakfasts and is open at 6:00 AM. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the monorail, which will take you to the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland Park.

Disney Does It Right – EVERY TIME!
We loved the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. The proximity to the parks, magical headboard, on-site character dining and the large pool area were a hit with all members of our family. We even ran into Goofy in the lobby when we were checking in. The kids were so excited to get their first autographs!
Tips for Families
When you stay at a Disney Resort, make sure you take advantage of the early park entry!

Magical stay!
We’ve stayed at the Disneyland Hotel two times now. We are planning on a third visit later in the year. We’ve had such a great experience both stays. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love the rooms. The light up headboard and music are so fun for the kids. The views from the upper floors of the hotel are amazing! The pool area is so nice. There are shallow areas for the little ones and big slides and pools for the older ones. We love the restaurant near the pool. The outside seating is so nice and the food is very good.
Tips for Families
In my opinion, Goofy’s Kitchen was overpriced. We enjoyed the food and character interaction, but I feel if you are going to go to a character breakfast, your money will be better spent at Minnie & Friends breakfast in the Disneyland Park.
