Wow! Wonderful for our family of 3!
While the decor is very refined and the service was impeccable at this Disney Deluxe Villa resort, they did NOT forget that Disney World is really about the child in all of us! The hotel was safe, clean, and the staff could not have been more pleasant and accomodating. They even brought us a pack and play when we just didn’t look in the right place, and had nothing bad to say when they arrived at our (far end of the hallway from the elevator) door with a second one. We spent all of our days at the parks, so we didnt even have time to visit the gorgeous kids pool. Our room overlooked the quiet pool and the canal- it was lovely. Couldnt have asked for a better location on Disney Property, 5 minute walk to Epcot during the International Food and Wine Festival- fantastic!! It was pretty pricey, but if we could afford to stay there again, we would in a heartbeat. Disney works hard to make your vacation truly magical.
Tips for Families
Get a room near the end of the hall if you need nap time! A room at the end of a hall was rough after a long day at the park, but with a toddler that NEEDED a nap, it was SO QUIET, and our normally “bad sleeper” slept for naps and bed time every day we were there! it also helped to run off that last bit of energy after dinner and before bed! If you can swing staying in an Epcot Resort area hotel, do it! With Epcot a <5 minute walk or boat ride, Hollywood Studios a 10 minute boat ride, and the Boardwalk with entertainment and restaurants galore, it's totally worth it! Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom were a short ride away, and the deluxe resort busses (at least when we went) were never as crowded as the value resort transportation to the parks. If on the meal plan, go to the bakery on the Boardwalk to use some of your snack credits on INCREDIBLE and HUGE baked goods, sandwiches, etc. LOTS of options that you'll be shocked count for the same snack as a banana or a small soda! And use the travel mug that you get with your MYW package- it saved us many an early morning to grab coffee before hopping on the transport to the parks! We also brought some snacks with us, to have on the bus on the way home (oops, I guess you're not supposed to do that!) and it kept our overtired toddler occupied and happy. The kitchens in the villas are really well equipped, and we planned to do breakfast in our room most mornings. It helped us get to the parks earlier, and saved us from having to use meal plan for breakfast most days.

Perfect place for our Disney celebration
We planned a trip to Disney to celebrate my 13 year old’s graduation from home school to high school. Disney is his favorite place, so I wanted to make it special. We rented a Boardwalk studio villa from a DVC points broker. It was much less expensive than going through Disney, and although I had never done it before, it was a great decision! I had done the online check-in, and we were met at the entrance to the Boardwalk lobby by a cast member who led us inside and walked us through the check-in, directed us to the concierge to transfer our tickets to our room keys, and was generally great. I had been a little apprehensive about not being a DVC member and buying the points, but the whole process could not have been any smoother. The villa was a short walk from the Boardwalk lobby, and had plenty of room for the three of us(my oldest daughter came along because she and my son are very close.) The room had a small kitchenette, so we were able to have breakfast and snacks in the room, which saved us some money on meals. Having the sink and shower area separated was a great help in getting ready each morning. My daughter and I shared the queen bed, and my son slept on the pull-out couch, which he said was very comfortable. It was a new design, where the pillows folded into the coucn as it pulled out – very neat! We watched the sunset from the balcony, and spent time just walking the boardwalk. There was a laundry room just for the villas that was free to use, and although small, we had no trouble getting a machine. Having the boats to go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was wonderful, and having the option of walking back to the room after the parks closed was so relaxing. Although we don’t typically spend this much on a room when we come to Disney- we generally go for the value hotels – it was worth every penny for the convenience, and to see my son so happy. I would definitely rent points again for a special occasion.
Tips for Families
The studios are great but if I had more than 3 people, especially if you have older kids, I would definitely go with a one bedroom. We had a preferred studio because that was all that was available for our dates, and being close to the lobby and the boats was nice, but I would not pay for that upgrade if I had the choice. We brought breakfast food, coffee, and water bottles from home, and froze the water bottles each night to take to the parks. By eating an early breakfast in the room we were ready for an early lunch which helped us beat the crowds at the restaurants.
