Good Location, good price, rooms…not so good
We stayed here with our three kids. I really liked the idea of a kitchenette in the room so wouldn’t have to eat out all the time. This location is fabulous and the price was reasonable, but the room was very awkward. The way the furniture was arranged made the room feel small and cramped. The kitchenette had no counter space and so it was hard to even make a bowl of cereal. There was a small step up into the bathroom which was weird and dangerous. We kept the bathroom light on all night so no one would trip on the step in the night. There was no place to eat in the room either. The one small table was covered by the coffee maker and a lamp. There is a restaurant on the property and the kitchen opens up into the stairwell so the halls smelled like stale food. The elevator is so slow that the stairs are the default option. The worst part about staying here, is that you are surrounded by obviously nicer hotels that you will wish you had stayed at instead. We did love the pool. It was a great temperature. And the free parking was nice. From the hotel, you can walk to most of the downtown Victoria attractions.
Tips for Families
There is no air conditioning in the hotel rooms, although a fan is provided and leaving the window open can be noisy. The kitchenette was not a practical option, although having a sink, fridge and microwave was nice.
