Great location and room & comfortable accomodations
We visited Disneyworld with our then 19-month old when we found out we were pregnant with our second. We figured what better place to get away and enjoy some time just the three of us than Disney! Since we were with a little one, and knew we’d likely be spending more time in the hotel than out in the parks, we sought out a place that felt like home. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn was a great location because it was just steps from Epcot. We chose a suite, which included a separate bedroom, common area with table for dining, a full bathroom and a fully-furnished kitchen. We used a service to deliver groceries for the week, which was great! Rather than committing to a Disney dining plan that we may not have fully used given our toddler, we cooked breakfast and ate in the room each morning. I also packed sandwiches and fruit to bring with us into the parks (which, we were surprised they allowed outside food!). The room was very spacious and comfortable. Once our son was asleep, we could retire to the bedroom to watch a movie or the nearby fireworks at Epcot. Our only complaint about this resort was the customer service, which was shocking for Disney given the rave reviews we always hear about exceptional customer service. We were relying on the Magical Express, which was neither magical nor express, to take us to/from our resort. On our last day, we received a letter to be downstairs by a certain time to board the shuttle to the airport. We got there earlier than the time we were told, waited about 30 minutes only to find they had come early and left without us. There was no attempt to reach us. And, the bellboys outside milling around didn’t even come over to ask if we needed anything (we were the only ones waiting for the shuttle that morning). This was extremely disappointing and frustrating as we were left taking a taxi and rushing to catch our flight. Disney did provide some complimentary passes for a future visit (which we gave to family members for their upcoming trip).
Tips for Families
If you stay in a room with a kitchen, consider ordering groceries. Depending on your family size/ages and eating habits, this may be an affordable option. We used Garden Grocer.

Awesome, family-friendly hotel near Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
We found the Boardwalk to be a great place to stay during our Disney visit. We loved being able to walk to Epcot. I allowed us to easily take a break in the afternoon sun. To go for a nice swim in the pool, grab a bite to eat and head back to Epcot for the fireworks.
Tips for Families
good walking shoes.

Disney’s Boardwalk is a decent hotel, but pricey for what you get.
We visited Disney’s Boardwalk Inn on a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. We were traveling with our niece (4) and two nephews (both 6). We were staying at the resort during a peak time, and it was very crowded. We were told by Disney that we had to book the deluxe hotel rather than a value resort because we had three children with us (they said something about fire codes). We were told that they had to put an extra daybed in our room because of the extra child (because apparently there is no way three small children can share a queen bed), and that said daybed would only fit in a deluxe room. I mention this because it comes into play later. When we arrived, we were directed to our room. The thing I immediately noticed was the lack of the daybed. We called the front desk, and they said that they had accidentally given us the wrong room, and they would send someone to take us to a new room with the daybed we supposedly had to have. We arrive at the new room, and it also does not have a daybed. They finally tell us to go to the park and there will be a daybed when we get back. There was one there when we came back as promised…with NO LINENS!!! Now, I would think that with the amount we had to pay for the deluxe room that the daybed would have been made up by them with not only linens but also a bedspread that matched the room and pillows. We had to request linens and pillows, and they brought a blanket but no bedspread. The dining options at the Boardwalk are varied, but at the time closed early. The pool was really nice, in a circus theme, and the children really liked the clown slide. I thought it was fairly cold for being a heated pool. This hotel has a small gift shop. The Boardwalk outside the hotel features entertainment at night. All Disney Resort hotels feature complimentary transportation to and from the Disney Parks and Downtown Disney. This is a definite perk of staying in a Disney Resort property. Their transportation runs continuously during park operating hours, unlike off-site resorts, who usually only offer shuttles a couple of times a day and often for a fee. All in all, the stay at this hotel was not bad. However, I have stayed at value and moderate resorts at Disney as well and there was really no upshot of staying at the deluxe resort as opposed to a more economical option, other than the dining. But you can hop on a Disney bus and get to any restaurant in the resort with some planning.
Tips for Families
– If you are traveling with your family, a more economical option may be right for you. – This hotel has really nice decor in the lobby area. – The pool is COLD in the spring even though it is heated. – Boat transportation can be slow. You are better off with the bus!

The Boardwalk Inn at Disney
Our family always stays at the Boardwalk when my husband attends his annual convention at DisneyWorld. We have never had a bad room, and the hotel is beautiful inside and out. To save a little money, we always bring breakfast items with us and eat before we leave for the parks, but at least once we go to the bakery for breakfast. You can’t beat the convenience of the Boardwalk for eating and getting to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We have had rooms facing all sides of the resort, and have never had a problem with noise. Having 2 queen beds and a daybed means we fit easily into the room, and the lobby and outside sitting areas mean we can always find a place to sit a relax after being busy at the parks.
Tips for Families
Get pizza from the walk-up window on the Boardwalk in the middle of the afternoon(no crowds) and eat at one of the tables facing the water. Stay to watch the Epcot fireworks, then walk back to the Boardwalk instead of taking the boat; it’s usually faster and provides some downtime before getting the kids ready for bed.

Great location for Epcot and Hollywood Studios
This is a great location for Epcot and Hollywood Studios since you can take the boat to the backdoor of Epcot and over to Hollywood Studios. It’s a bus ride to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom which is a bit of a drag with little ones in strollers. Cat Cora’s on the property is a great restaurant with great food! We asked to be close to transportation and our room was very convenient! It was right at the end of a long hallway so we didn’t have to walk far at all! As soon as we arrived at the resort cast members were there waiting on us to check us in. So make sure you do online check in ahead of time, it really does help! Everyone there was wonderful and very helpful! We really liked the Boardwalk and it’s great atmosphere but I would say it’s better for a bit older kids who don’t require strollers simple because of bus transportation.
Tips for Families
Ask to be close to transportation!
